Course Description: This school year will consist of many literary texts that, when read and analyzed properly, will strengthen your reading and writing skills. This class will include an integrated approach to language arts through listening, speaking, writing, reading, and critical thinking. Students will study literature selections that include novels, drama, short stories, and poetry. Students will also study nonfiction works, ranging from articles to podcasts.

Course Goals and Objectives: Students will have the opportunity to establish strong writing skills through expository and critical-thinking essays that reflect proper grammar, mechanics, and the elements of strong writing. Class discussions will provide opportunities for students to practice mature verbal skills.

Google Classroom: Google Classroom will be our main website. Please make sure to stay updated and check Google Classroom daily for any new assignments. The Google Meet link will be at the very top of the Google Classroom page for you to join the virtual lesson.

Textbook: Actively Learn, an online curriculum platform, will be used to access assigned texts, which will include short stories, novels, plays, poems, speeches, articles, and etc.
