Keyboard/Piano
I love music and have been an itinerant piano teacher at Hillview for about a year - and also taught piano prior to having kids of my own.
I enjoy playing piano and working with kids - having worked in schools and preschools in the past.
I'm passionate about instilling a love for music in children and believe that learning piano as a first instrument helps to solidify a number of musical concepts that can in turn make the learning of other instruments in future a smoother transition.
I prefer to teach students beginning their musical journey, although I am competent to teach those that have been playing for a while also

At Hillview Christian School your child can learn to play an instrument at school with the CSM Outreach Band Programme. Children who learn music build confidence, increase their learning abilities, sharpen organisational skills and gain valuable social, physical and academic skills. Most importantly learning an instrument in the band programme is fun!
In the CSM band programme, we teach clarinet, flute, trumpet, trombone, electric bass guitar, percussion and saxophone. Students in Year 5 and above (or those in Year 4 who are 9 years old) can choose their instrument and join a band. After four lessons children join the Da Capo (beginners) band. They rehearse together every week and have an individual 15-minute lesson (or a 30-minute lesson in a group of two).
