This website serves as a central location for distrcit information during this remote learning period. It includes at-home resources and links to grade-appropriate support sites. Acceder la Página en Español
Mackin is making over 1,500 ebooks available for free through their Via service. There are a wide variety of fiction, nonfiction, and classic titles, so there is something for everyone! To access these books, start typing Hillside High School and choose it from the menu. Then use your PowerSchool login to access the ebooks.
Sora App for eBooks and eAudiobooks
Sora is an app that allows you to read eBooks and eAudiobooks on the web or on your device via the Sora app. You can get to Durham Public Schools titles and Durham County Library titles all in one place. Go to this Google Slide show to learn how to use Sora.

Durham County Library Digital Collections
Digital Collections including eBooks, Audiobooks, Movies, TV, and more. Remember, your library card number is the same as your PowerSchool number, and your PIN is the last 4 digits. For example, if your PowerSchool is 123456789, then your PIN would be 6789.
Durham County Library Online Research
These resources are from NCLive which has a ton of online research databases and news sources. Again, you can use your PowerSchool number as a Durham County Library card number to access these.

Commercial Resources
This site is by Common Sense Media. You can say whether you are a teacher or a family and choose PreK-5 or 6-12. Then there are a ton of categories with some of the best resources out there for learning from home. For example, you could choose Family and 6-12, then choose Field Trips. It will show 9 places that have live cameras or virtual field trips available. There is a lot there including daily schedules, how to set up a virtual learning space and emotional well-being.

You'll find every chapter full of great activities to keep you entertained and test your learning. You can create a free login to save your place, but you don't have to.
Khan Academy offers free lessons and activities in all academic subject areas including AP classes and college admission test prep. You can sign up as a Learner for free and complete lessons at your own pace.
