Each year the HACC honors students who have met specific guidelines within their programs. The
HACC established the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) to recognize the outstanding Career
and Technical Education students attending the HACC.
The purpose of this organization shall be:
To promote the ideals of honesty, service, leadership, and skill development among America’s future workforce;
To reward scholastic achievement in occupational, vocational, and/or technical education;
To assist society members in their pursuit of career and educational goals;
To help to build and maintain a stronger, more positive image for technical students, programs, and schools, in the local community and throughout the nation;
To encourage the practice of high standards of personal and professional conduct and individual responsibility among the membership and
To help member schools to initiate and maintain strong working partnerships with local institutions of business, industry, and commerce.
To be inducted into the NTHS a student must meet the following criteria:
NTHS-Home School Requirements
• 3.0 or better accumulative GPA;
• No more than 3 excused absences per semester (no more than 3 per trimester);
• No more than 3 tardies per semester (no more than 2 per trimester);
• Official transcript with grades and attendance documented
AND
NTHS-HACC Requirements
• 3.0 or better accumulative GPA;
No more than 5 chargeable absences per semester
• No more than 4 tardies per semester;
• 1 Letter of recommendation from an adult in your CTE field (not your instructor), Counselor, Principal, teacher, boss, coach,etc.
