Winter weekly sport

As this is an extra curricular event there is a cost to cover transport to and from Hagley park. The cost works out at $50 per student, $5 a week over the 10 weeks.

In the weekly winter sports program students have the option to participate in the following sports.

HOCKEY 

VENUE: Hagley Park. 

Equipment: Mouthguards, shinpads are compulsory and PE uniform.

Grades: Mixed

NETBALL

 VENUE: South Hagley Park Netball Courts

Equipment: Provided uniform.

Grades: Girls/Mixed/Boys

RUGBY 

VENUE: South Hagley Park Rugby Fields from Deans Ave. 

Rippa equipment: PE uniform and running shoes/boots

Tackle 10's equipment: Players must wear mouthguards for rugby. Rugby boots and provided uniform.

Grades: Mixed

RUGBY LEAGUE 

VENUE: South Hagley Park or North Hagley Park- TBC. 

Equipment: Players must wear mouthguards for rugby league. Rugby boots and provided uniform.

Grades: Mixed

FOOTBALL 

VENUE: South Hagley Park.

Equipment: Shin pads are compulsory. PE uniform.

Grades: Girls/Mixed/Boys

TABLE TENNIS 

VENUE: Table Tennis Stadium, 294 Blenheim Road.

Equipment: PE uniform and shoes (must be clean, if not barefeet). 

Grades: Mixed

BADMINTON 

VENUE: Zhu Badminton Centre 

Equipment: PE uniform and shoes (non marking).

Grades: Girls/Mixed/Boys

Students will be busses down to Hagley park (or specialized location) on Tuesday afternoons (12:30PM - 3:00PM). 

Multisport for beginners 

VENUE: Hillmorton High School

Equipment: PE uniform and shoes.

Grades: Mixed 

Students will get the opportunity to try various sports. This is for beginners to experience and try something new. Basketball, Volleyball, Korfball, Tennis are some of the sports they will learn. A senior coach will teach them how to play. More information to come. 

Yoga

VENUE: Hillmorton High School

Equipment: PE uniform and shoes.

Grades: Mixed 

A Yoga instructor will come to school and run the students through a yoga session. We will supply the yoga mat. This is a great opportunity to experience a new way to stay physically fit. 

Pacific Dance Fitness 

VENUE: Hillmorton High School

Equipment: PE uniform and shoes.

Grades: Mixed 

A dance instructor will come to school and run the students through a Pacific dance session. This is a great opportunity to experience a new way to stay physically fit.
