We collaborated with Moving Health in order to support their goal of providing efficient healthcare access in Ghana and Tanzania. Our teams worked to make over 100 keychains and 2 award frames that were sent out to their major donors. The keychains are made with traditional African prints and bicycle gear chains.
In this event, we fundraised for the HPTO table which provids funds for Hokinton's robotics programs. We spoke to some parents of the 1200+ students who attend Hopkinton High School, providing more attention towards the robotics program and encouraging more students to consider joining.
We tutored students in India in chemistry and physics. These students are public school students in India who do not have access to similar opportunities that many private school students do. We aimed to decrease the education gap between the public and private school students in India through our teaching. We developed the curriculum and taught 6 chapters.
For our second year with WAAW, we were able to fundraise $260 to send another girl back to school! The money fundraised would aid a woman in Africa who lacked STEM opportunities to provide them with a chance to develop their own education.
With our work, we were able to found a chapter of the nonprofit Unfounded to combat scientific misinformation within our communities. For our chapter, we wrote articles on a variety of topics such as AI technology, machine learning, gene editing, anthropology, and more. Our work has cleared up misapprehensions regarding scientific information for many around the globe.
In an effort to promote STEM education in female schooling, we fundraised for a school in Nigeria to grow their STEM programs. We were able to raise over $1,500 by explaining the purpose of the fundraiser at various events.
Project Just Because is a nonprofit within our town to provide for families in need in Hopkinton. We were able to create pamphlets that listed free STEM opportunities to share with families who may not be able to afford resources to provide for their students' education. These were available to over 810 families!
