Philosophy

I believe every student is a future citizen scientist. Citizen scientists are capable of seeking out credible research, comprehending the academic vocabulary within the text, thinking critically and engaging in discussions about scientific ideas, and making informed decisions about environmental, medical, and social issues. It is salient for students to practice these skills, so throughout the year we will read authentic science texts, build a strong vocabulary of science terms, engage in scientific inquiry, and regularly discuss scientific ideas and current events with peers and as a class.
