Hello! I am currently a San Diego Teacher Resident at High Tech Elementary School in Chula Vista, California. I am honored to be apart of the High Tech High Graduate School of Education as a graduate student. I graduated from San Diego State University with a B.A in Political Science and a double minor in Leadership Development and Sustainability in May of 2022. I am also a fluent Spanish speaker. On my free time I enjoy hiking, spending time with my family, and eating! I look forward to teaching your children.

My journey began in elementary school. I attended the Dual Language Immersion Program at a charter school nearby. I was one of twenty students to be the first to try out the program. We learned anything from how to sing happy birthday in Spanish to each and every Mexican holiday. These were my first experiences with finding a love for learning.
In high school I enrolled in a tutoring program, in which we would leave campus for a period block to tutor elementary school students. I was assigned in first grade, where I helped students reach their reading goals by continuously reading with them while answering comprehension questions.
When I graduated from high school I was torn between which direction I wanted my life to go in. I decided to continue my education at San Diego State University in the Fall of 2018. While enrolled in classes full time, I also worked two jobs, at the District Attorney's office and Starbucks. I explored my options from this point on. The District Attorney's Office gave me office experience as well as the legal experience I strived to get. Additionally, I also volunteered for my community's local cheerleading team as their head coach throughout college.
When approaching the end of my time in my Undergrad, it took one of my professors to help me figure out that Education was the realm for me to pursue. It was from my experience volunteering, tutoring, and my love for learning that lead me to the conclusion that I need to be in the classroom doing what I love best, learning ! The best educators in my experience are those who have the vulnerability to love to learn with their students. I strive to be that person for my future students, one who embraces any and all backgrounds, vulnerability and leadership.
