I really enjoyed all of our mural projects this second semester. We camped for one night in Anza Borrego and it was really fun. When we got back from camping we started working on our mural. The bottom half of the mural is how Anza Borrego was throughout the last million years. The top half is how Anza Borrego is currently.
This is the Geometric Mural and Math Card that I made to go with it. For the geometric mural we had to take a picture from our camping trip at Cuyamaca and we had to trace it. You can see in my math card that I chose the campfire. I traced the campfire and the went into photoshop to put in the colors I needed. After that, I had to trace my image onto a wooden board, which took such a long time. Next, I had to begin painting. This was the longest process throughout the whole making of my image, but it was definitely worth it because our mural looks so good.
For my article I wrote about my fears from the ropes course our class went on. I don't really like heights, so the ropes course was very scary for me. I talked about how it was not enjoyable being that high up, and how the zip line was definitely the most scary part of the ropes course.
For this field trip, my whole class went on a field trip to the OC Ropes Course. After the field trip, we got assigned a project to make a model of some part of the course. Audrey and I partnered up to make a model. The first draft was not that great, we used some flimsy cardboard and popsicle sticks. For our second draft, we used much better material and it turned out really great. We even got to use paint and clay. On the right of the poster, we explained how physics was used on the ropes course.
For my anecdote I wrote a very dramatic story about the zip line at the ropes course. I wrote about the fears of jumping from the zip line and how I was glad that I had a friend there to do it with me.
For our Point Loma Slice, we got separated into different groups and each group went on a different walk. My group went all the way to Point Loma High School and around, then back to my school. It was very hard because of all of the hills. When we got back we had to start making our slice. The lines are the route we took. For my slice I had the job of taking pictures of each of our stops, so I just put pictures into my slice of which stop is where.
Since I was gone for the Mission Trails field trip, I made mine about where I was instead. I missed this field trip because I was in LA for a Harry Styles concert. My graph is about my excitement throughout the whole concert.
