In our humanities class this year we made a multitude of poems to choose from, one we got to present at exhibition. We spent the semester editing them and getting critique on our poems until the were ready for exhibition. I chose to present a comedic poem, my Anteaters Poem, which is a vehement performance on how much I hate anteaters.
Throughout the semester we spent many hours reading in class, reading many different books. I personally read the Wheel of Time series, which is a long fantasy novel series that I'm still not finished with, being on book 6 of 14. At the end of our project we gave a talk about all the different books we read throughout the semester, showing how they all connected and talking about our favorite one.
Another one of projects we worked on in our humanities class this year was our Literary Analysis essay. We first spent a couple days studying an annotating a song or poem about positive change. I chose to analyze Bob Dylans "Blowin in the Wind" which is a song all about asking the question "when will things change for the better?". We than spent a week writing the essay, averaging one paragraph per day, until we each had an essay a couple pages long.
Our first project of the semester in our humanities class was our Music and Me Timeline. We used a graphic organizer to list out our favorite songs throughout our lives, along with a popular song that came out the year we were born. We than transferred this info, and some lyrics from each song over to a timeline poster that we made using a website called Canva.
Our main project for our math class was our Step Pattern project. Our Step Pattern project was something that we worked on in a website called Canva, and is a double sided project card. On one side is a math problem to solve, the back side being a deep dive explanation of the math and quadratic formulas behind the problem on the front side.
Our El Folleto's were a project that we worked on in our Spanish class this semester. We made brochures for Spanish speaking country's or cities. We also made the brochures in Spanish, which was particularly difficult for me, due to the fact that I don't know how to speak Spanish.
Our final project this semester in Spanish class was our Yo Soy Poem, which was a poem written in Spanish. We started our poem.
