Ms. Becky designed a place-based, year long project to deepen her students' sense of community, place, Hawaiian values and home. Kumu Kauka and one of her parents, Nathaniel Evslin (Isaac), assisted with a name, Kealahele Ma Kauai, or to travel the pathway of Kauai. Students, families and Ms. Becky fundraised heavily for this project.

Students took action with a beach clean up and furthered their action by writing letters to state representatives urging bills to protect our island from plastic pollution. Ms. Becky handed the letters off to Surfrider Kaua'i volunteers who took them to Washington D.C. We received a supportive letter back from Senator Ed Case.
Makahiki Games, Hawaiian cultural games, are shared through partnership with Kamehameha Schools Kaua'i, during a weeklong Learning Voyage.
