I use project-based learning (PBL), 21st century technology, and thought-provoking discussions to build our students' comprehension and critical thinking skills. 

I treasure the opportunity to teach and encourage my students to become active members of both their local community and the global community. 

I lead a health & fitness-based lifestyle, with strength training, hiking, kayaking, and paddle boarding as my favorite ways to spend my time. I've hiked part of the Appalachian Trail, and part of the Pacific Crest Trail, and visited 11 countries, 47 states, and 10 national parks! In 2021, we traveled to Iceland, where we explored the world's largest geothermal field over 13 days and 93 miles of hiking. In 2023, we took on a 5600-mile road trip over 21 days, from Medina, Ohio to Jasper, Alberta Canada and back. On top of that, we biked 325 miles across the state of Iowa as part of the world's oldest, longest bike ride - RAGBRAI!

My husband, Jeff, and I live in Medina. Son, Zach,  and his fiancé also live and work nearby with their Aussies, Zephyr & Apollo.  Our daughter, Kassidy, lives in Nashville with her husband and their rescue dog, Enzo.

We have a 3-year-old Bernese Mountain dog named Lucy. She is a therapy dog, so she might make the occasional appearance in class! She is also ranked as the 23rd fastest Bernese Mountain dog in the country, with a top average speed of 24mph! We also have a 19-month-old Berner boy named, Drift.  He is already a strong performer in a variety of canine sports, and he has begun his therapy dog training as well. Don't be surprised to see him, as he goes everywhere with me!
