This week: This week, we finished up Chapter 3 and finalized it with an assessment. Algebra can be a tricky concept for 6th graders, and we will continue visiting the concepts as we begin the second quarter to be sure that students are solid in the conceptualization of the basics.
Looking ahead: Next week, Advanced Math will be continuing with Chapter 4 and the investigation of geometric shapes, while General Math begin the chapter by looking at the area of parallelograms and triangles.
Have a fantastic weekend!

Frey, Social Studies:
I have lost control of my class!!! Not really, but Mr. Beil has taken over for the next two weeks. He is currently in his intensives of student teaching, and your kids are in great hands. This week he finished up the Mesopotamian unit and then built background knowledge on the Egyptians with the class. I have included the test averages for each class. They were a little lower than I like. Kids had the opportunity to fix their tests, and I had only a few who chose to do so.
Averages: 1st hour - 76.1%, 2nd hour - 75.2%, 3rd hour - 77.9%, 7th hour - 82.8%
Next Week: Monday - Off, Tuesday - Website Work, Wednesday - Mysteries of Egypt, Thursday - Map work, Friday - Project day
