At HFM BOCES, we can assist you with starting and maintaining an esports club that is as informal as students playing a game in the library, to as competitive as joining a nation-wide scholastic esports league. Let us know how we can help!

HFM BOCES is happy to assist component districts in the creation and maintenance of in-district Esports Clubs. These clubs may utilize equipment that the district has been able to obtain independently. Scheduling of activities and the participation of students is left entirely to the district.
The HFM BOCES Scholastic Esports League is open to all component districts within HFM BOCES.
Our goal is to provide a safe and positive environment for all levels of players in the esports realm.
Divisions for your clubs and teams exist based on the needs of the component districts and change as the seasons and needs progress.

The HFM BOCES Scholastic Esports League runs tournaments for different games as the school year progresses. Because games change often and popularity changes we base the choices of games on the component districts and their Gaming Club preferences, which are likely to be different each year. There are certainly some consistent focus games, like Rocket League and Minecraft, but additional games are based on club requests.
Tournaments are set up depending on the number of clubs or teams involved in that particular tournament.
A tournament only includes schools from the Component Districts of HFM BOCES in order to give players the opportunity to develop their skills locally before districts expand their clubs into wider regions in New York State or Nationally.
Our intention is for our component districts to be able to figure things out within our own locale. We will be having multiple tournaments throughout the school year.
The HFM BOCES Scholastic Esports League is intend for all grades.
As the program develops more opportunities will be open to students at different grade levels.
The initial challenges and league are intended to focus on the Minecraft and the Rocket League games.
The HFM BOCES Scholastic Esports League is now proud to be an Affiliate in the North America Scholastic Esports Federation.
This means that we will have support as we build and develop our esports capabilities within our region. This will result in all component HFM BOCES districts being able to tap into additional resources and training to make their esports vision a reality.
With our connection to the Gwoop cognitive training platform all players in district teams have the opportunity to follow directed intentional practice sessions using the Gwoop software.
Players can improve their accuracy, memory, speed, action, and control through regular practice on this platform. Coaches can keep track of how the players are performing.
