This is a page that will be updated periodically. Below are some resources for you to use to create videos for your classes. Please contact your campus IT girl with any questions.
Your Phone-you can use your phone at home to make videos for class. You may need to get a phone tripod in order to do so. Remember to keep videos short. Longer videos will take a lot of time to upload and/download and will definitely be different depending on your internet connectivity.
How to add to Google Drive
Use a charger cord to plug into Chromebook or computer. Move the video file into your drive.
Download the Google Drive or Google Classroom app onto your phone and directly upload.
Screencastify-this is an extension that allows you to record via your webcam or to record your computer screen. They are giving teachers access to their premium version through April 30th.
To install the extension, please click HERE.
To learn how to use the extension, watch a tutorial HERE.
To activate the premium version, please follow these instructions:
Visit this page and click "Redeem coupon" (under the Next Billing Date)
Enter code CAST_COVID
Click "Activate License" (no credit card required). Ignore the Next Billing Date - that will be incorrect
Here's a quick video that demonstrates these steps.
Loom- Similar to Screencastify, this is an extension that allows you to record via your webcam or to record your computer screen. Loom Pro is free for educators indefinitely.
