English: Shurley Method: Students will work through this graduated series, learning grammar and writing through jingles and repetition. It also stresses study skills and organizational skills. Students should become proficient using the question answer flow to label parts of speech.
Handwriting: Students will learn Zaner-Bloser cursive handwriting. Students are expected to maintain proper handwriting form on all assignments. Handwriting grades will come from both the Zaner-Bloser text and regular handwriting checks on various assignments.
Phonics: Sadlier phonics provides explicit instruction and practice for phonemic awareness, alphabetic knowledge, decoding skills, sound-symbol correspondences and manipulating and building words.
Reading: Reading Street- Students will study various genres of realistic fiction, poetry, fantasy, and informational text. Students will continue to work on reading skills including comprehension, summarizing, story elements, fluency and appreciation. Students will take accelerated reader tests over classroom stories.

Religion: We are using the Word of Life religion program.
Social Studies: Social Studies Weekly: a standards-aligned social studies curriculum designed for elementary students. It utilizes a weekly publication format, resembling a newspaper, with engaging articles, primary source materials, and accompanying activities. (taught by Mrs. Hagans)

enVisionMATH is a core curriculum for students in kindergarten through grade 6. The program seeks to help students develop an understanding of math concepts through problem-based instruction, small-group interaction, and visual learning with a focus on reasoning and modeling.
