Recommend an Organization for an RFP

If there is a program or organization you would like to receive a Request for Proposals (RFP) from Hestia during the next grants cycle, please fill out the brief form below. Please click on the link provided to fill out the form. Some have found that the Google form works best in the Chrome browser. The recommendations will be collected throughout the spring and summer, and reviewed prior to RFPs going out in mid-September. Recommendations must be received by August 18, 2023 at the latest.

Recommending organizations to participate in the grant proposal process is a critical task of Hestia members, and we thank you for your thoughtful recommendations.

To recommend an organization, we encourage members to visit the organization, attend an event, or speak with organizational or program leadership. This allows members to learn more about the organization and make sure the mission is aligned with Hestia’s and assess its fit within Hestia’s basic criteria for grant applicants: priority issue area, geographic location, age group served.

If you haven’t recommended an organization before, or if it has been a while here are some resources to help communicate about The Hestia Fund and about our grant process:

·   Hestia Mission & Funding Process Document

·   Current Hestia grantees

·   Past Hestia grantees

In addition to the Hestia member completing the recommendation form below, we require a one-page Letter of Interest (LOI) from the recommended organization, unless they were funded last year. Our administrator will provide this LOI to the organization and will copy you. We ask that you follow up with the organization and make sure they submit their LOI by the due date. LOI forms are due by September 1, 2023.

It is not guaranteed that a recommended organization will be asked to submit a written proposal. The Hestia Grants Committee is composed each year of eight rotating members who are given discretion to make decisions at each stage of our grants review process on behalf of Hestia membership. Decisions are based on an organization’s fit within Hestia’s mission and criteria and the potential lasting impacts on the populations they serve, and with consideration of the particular set of proposals each year.

If you have any questions about the process, please be in touch with Jennifer and the current Grants Chair. Also, we encourage members to partner up to make this a more collaborative approach! Thank you again for your important contribution.
