Membership Committee

Membership Committee

Role: The Membership Committee is a two-woman committee charged with recruiting members to carry out the Hestia mission.  We aim to keep a roster of 50-55 active members to enable us to maintain a certain intimacy and friendship among the women.  It is our objective to strengthen, enrich and balance our group. The committee works as a team to recruit prospective members, welcome guests and new members, review new member materials, report on membership status at monthly meetings, and organize a new member orientation in October. The Luncheons and Annual Meeting Luncheon subcommittees function independently but fall loosely under Membership administratively.

Specific Tasks include:

·       Throughout the year, encourage and monitor the invitation of guests to monthly meetings.  Act as hostesses/big sisters to guests and new members.

·       Keep list of interested women/prospective members, by order of their first contact with Hestia. Send welcome email to guests who have decided to join Hestia, get contact details from them.

·       At Steering and Monthly meetings give updates on State of the Union, members joining and leaving Hestia.

·       In October, conduct Orientation for new members.

·       In April of each year, send renewal email to each woman at the end of her three (3) year cycle and work with the Program Administrator to track renewals.

·       In May, introduce new members at Annual Meeting.

·       Say thank you and goodbye to retiring members at Annual Meeting.
