Course Description: Life Science is a one semester basic life science course focusing on genetics and ecology. It provides students with a basic understanding of living things. Topics covered may include ecology and environmental problems such as overpopulation and pollution as well as cells, types of organisms, evolutionary behavior, and inheritance. The genetics sections core ideas will be centered around chromosomes, cell replication, and heredity. The ecology section will primarily study energy flow, community interactions and population dynamics. Students will experience hands-on practice, lectures, online simulations, and formal and informal assessments.
Life Science is a semester course (0.5 credit) that is for incoming freshmen.
