Be Respectful – Respect yourself, respect your teachers, respect your classmates, and respect the classroom.
Work Hard – There is a strong correlation between hard work and success. Though some things in this course will be challenging, we expect you to always try your best and work hard. If you are staying on task and working hard, you will be successful.
Grow – We will meet you where you’re at and push you to improve, focusing on one goal at a time. We ask that you set goals, work with us, and be dedicated and persistent. Our goal is that you grow as a mathematician, a student, and a person.
Tardy Policy Tardies will result in a loss of warm-up and participation points.
Cell Phone Policy Cell phones are a distraction to learning. Students are to keep them out of sight and out of mind while in class.
Academic Honesty Students are expected to complete their assignments independently unless collaboration is explicitly allowed by the teacher. If a student is found to have copied, used an application, or AI tool to complete any test or assignment it will result in a zero for that test or assignment for all students involved.
Make-up Work Policy
If you miss a class, whether by sickness or field trip, it is your responsibility to make up the material and turn your work in on time. Check our Google classroom daily
If you miss a test or quiz, you are responsible for taking the test the day you return unless the absence has been excessive. Upon your return to school, you are responsible for contacting me to schedule a make-up test.

Effort
Students are expected to actively participate in the class every day. Participation includes, but is not limited to, the following:
listening attentively, taking notes, completing classwork assignments, asking questions, contributing to discussions, working collaboratively with peers, reporting to class on time and being prepared.
Participation and classwork will be facilitated for all students using various platforms including Google Classroom, EdPuzzle, Desmos, DeltaMath, Khan Academy and more.
Homework will be assigned regularly and checked for completion and effort. Students should check for feedback on their homework assignments and seek extra help when needed.
Student progress will be formally assessed using performance tasks, tests, quizzes, and projects.
Performance tasks will be activities completed in class or at home and will be assessed based on effort and accuracy.
Tests and quizzes will vary in length but all will be in class and be graded based on accuracy.
Students are encouraged to put in the necessary effort for success. There are assignments and opportunities provided to promote independence and ownership of their learning experience. Examples include: Khan Academy, DeltaMath, Attending Extra Help, Additional Homework, Test Corrections, etc. I am open to suggestions from students as well.
