The course formalizes and deepens the understanding of linear, quadratic and exponential functions. Students engage in modeling and problem solving with linear, exponential and quadratic functions. Descriptive statistics is introduced and students interpret, analyze and apply linear models to data. In this course students experience mathematics as a coherent, useful, and logical subject that makes use of their ability to solve problems they encounter in the real world. Students will become fluent in solving characteristic problems involving the analytic geometry of lines, adding, subtracting and multiplying polynomials; transforming expressions, factoring, completing the square, and other algebraic calculations.
