mindfulness in the classroom
Mindfulness is a mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, used as a therapeutic technique.
Mission Be is a 12 Week course that guides students in learning about and practicing mindfulness. There are many benefits of practicing mindfulness. My hope is that participation in the Mission Be lessons will help each child increase focus, reduce stress, improve emotion regulation and have increased empathy for others.
