My role is to help you to live as genuinely and function as effectively as possible. My practice focuses on counseling/psychotherapy for individuals and couples.
Dr. Herman is currently accepting new clients and offers in-person and telehealth sessions.

Dr. Herman earned his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and holds a degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. With over 30 years of experience in higher education, mental health, and healthcare, he combines extensive knowledge with practical expertise in his private psychotherapy practice.
Dr. Herman served as the Director of the Counseling Center at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) and later led UMBC Retriever Integrated Health, an integrated health and counseling center offering a range of services, including counseling, medical care, acupuncture, and massage. He also held positions as the Assistant Director of Outreach and Consultation and Staff Psychologist at Towson University and served as a Staff Psychologist at Loyola University.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Herman has taught in the Graduate Psychology Program at Towson University and in the Education Department at Loyola College.
Dr. Herman is the father of two adult daughters and is passionate about spending time in the outdoors.
