Description: Three-Dimensional Learning shifts the focus of the science classroom to an environment where students use disciplinary core ideas, crosscutting concepts, and scientific practice to explore, examine, and explain how and why phenomena occur and to design solutions to problems. In short, it is a model for pushing student involvement and critical thinking. Participants will learn strategies for using this structure in their Science Classroom.

Description: This workshop will focus on strategies to help teach, support, and assess students with writing.  Teachers are encouraged to bring an assignment they are considering using in their classroom to work on.  Using the strategies introduced, the last hour of the session will be spent to strengthen the assignment and get feedback and ideas from peers.

Description: Exploration of manipulatives designed to support and scaffold students' learning of basic algebra mathematics principles and how they might be used in the classroom. We will look at a variety of manipulatives, including : Algebra Tiles, Algebra Lab Gear, number lines, and equation balancing supports, as well as a number of algebra games to increase engagement and infuse a little fun into algebra class!
