I Love Teaching

My Education

I have been in school (on one side of the desk or the other) pretty much since I was first old enough to go to school. My Dad is a teacher, so I probably toddled around his classrooms even before that.

My first paid teaching job was teaching piano lessons while before I was even old enough to get a driver's license. Throughout the next three and a half decades, I have taught in many different settings: High School, Junior High, Summer School, Night School, Community College, Enrichment Programs, Second-chance programs, and some other odds and ends.

I graduated from Mountain View High School (since there wasn't a Heritage Academy to attend in those days) and then Mesa Community College (Associate of Arts with Distinction).

In 1993, I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education from Arizona State University and obtained my Arizona Teaching Certification (with special emphasis in Physics and Mathematics).

I continued to take classes (Northern Arizona University, University of Phoenix, Rio Salado Community College, Mesa Community College, University of Phoenix, Montana State University, and more classes at MCC and ASU) to learn, grow, stay current, and improve myself and my teaching.

In 2008, I completed my Master's Degree in Teaching and Learning (with an emphasis in Technology Integration) from Nova Southeastern University.

I haven't stopped learning yet. I hope I never do--after all, it seems like it would be kind of boring to know everything.
