School Starter Division Distance Learning Plan

SCHOOL STARTERS DIVISION DISTANCE LEARNING PLAN

In the event that school is closed for more than two days, the first day will be a faculty planning day. On the second day, students are encouraged to:

• Engage with materials posted via Google Classroom which will provide links to Class Dojo, and other learning platforms. Teachers will also communicate by email to prepare for further online learning. This will involve practicing posting work on various platforms and interacting with online materials.

On the third day, the full plan will begin. Students are asked to:

• Engage with materials shared with families via teacher selected platforms and email. Materials will include stories read aloud, foundational play-based literacy and mathematical engagements as well as creative and choice based tasks. Families will receive new posts each day and have the opportunity to participate in an interactive video platform Morning meeting.

We will monitor and adjust accordingly based on teacher and family observation of student activity and learning.
