On the surface, the creature appears responsible for the trail of grisly deaths, and Victor Frankenstein and his friend Henry Clerval seem inseparable. But beneath it all lies a deeper mystery: Victor is so consumed by his scientific pursuits that he fails to see the truth—his trusted friend Henry is the real madman pulling the strings.
