Our Parent & Family Engagement Plan outlines how McDonough High School partners with families to support student learning, improve academic outcomes, and strengthen communication between home and school. This plan is created jointly with parents, students, and staff during our annual input meetings and is revised each year based on family feedback.
The PFEP includes:
How Title I supports our school
Parent rights under Title I
How families can participate in school decisions
Our School–Parent Compact and communication commitments
Academic goals in graduation, reading, and state assessments
Resources available through the Family Resource Center
Support for families requiring translation, accessibility, or flexible meeting times
This plan applies to all MHS families, and we are committed to ensuring every parent has the tools, information, and opportunities needed to help their student succeed.

At McDonough High School, we believe student success is a shared responsibility. Our Title I Parent–School Compact for Student Achievement reflects a strong partnership between families, students, and staff, outlining how we work together to support academic growth, literacy development, graduation readiness, and college and career success.
This compact was jointly developed with input from parents, students, teachers, and school leaders and aligns with Henry County Schools’ district priorities. It clearly defines the responsibilities of the school, families, and students, while establishing shared goals for reading achievement, assessment performance, and on-time graduation.
Families are encouraged to review the compact annually, participate in feedback opportunities, and engage in school events, workshops, and conferences that strengthen student learning. Together, we are committed to creating meaningful partnerships that empower every student to succeed academically and beyond
