Rising 9th Grade Advisement

THE COUNTDOWN TO 9TH GRADE IS ON!!!

    Dear Parents/Guardians,

As your 8th grade scholar prepares for the transition from Stockbridge Middle School to Stockbridge High School, we are committed to providing the necessary support and information to ensure a smooth and successful start to their high school journey. To assist with this transition, SMS & SHS have planned important events to guide students through the course selection process and introduce them to their new school environment.

Stockbridge High School Counselor Visit (2/4/2026)
On Wednesday February 4th, Stockbridge High School counselors will visit 8th-grade classrooms at SMS. During this visit, they will provide valuable information about course selection, graduation requirements, and opportunities available at Stockbridge High School. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions and gain a better understanding of their options as they prepare for the next academic year.

Rising 9th Grade Course Selections (2/5/2026 & 2/9/2026)

Registration for high school courses will take place with Ms. Parker during the school day on February 5th (Team 801) & February 9th (Team 802).  On those days, scholars will bring home a copy of their registration forms for parents to sign and return to the counseling office.  If you would like to schedule an appointment following these registration dates to discuss your child's selections, you may click this booking link to schedule your appointment.  Appointments will be available beginning February 11th:  Rising 9th Grade Advisement Appointment Link.

Field Trip to Stockbridge High School (2/10/2026)

On Wednesday, February 10th, all 8th-grade students will have the opportunity to visit Stockbridge High School for a guided tour. The cost of this field trip is $2 and will allow students to explore the campus, meet key staff members, and learn more about extracurricular activities and academic programs. This experience is designed to help ease any concerns and build excitement for their upcoming transition.

Attached to this letter is a permission slip that must be signed and returned to Ms. Parker in the counseling office by Friday, February 6th in order for your student to participate in the field trip.
