The UGHS Wolverine Gymnastics team won the 2025 Henry County Championship and placed third in the State Championship.

Tryouts for the Spring 2026 season are January 26 at 4 p.m. at The Academy for Advanced Studies Gym. Wear leotards. 

Gymnasts must meet GHSA standards to compete. This is not a teaching program. 

PRE-TRYOUT CHECKLIST 

BEFORE TRYOUTS:

☐ Have a current athlete physical

☐ Fill out forms on DragonFly

 I CAN:

☐ Perform a safe vault I would use in competition
☐ Complete a full bars routine without spotting
☐ Perform a high beam routine with a safe dismount
☐ Perform a continuous floor routine with required skills (no stopping)

Gymnasts must be able to compete in a minimum of one event, preferably two events.

SKILL READINESS

☐ I can do my skills consistently (not “one-time lucky”)
☐ I can land safely on my feet
☐ I know how to fall safely if needed

PHYSICAL PREP

☐ I can warm up independently
☐ I can hold hollow/arch positions
☐ I have endurance to finish routines

MINDSET

☐ I listen and apply corrections immediately
☐ I stay composed after mistakes
☐ I understand GHSA gymnastics values safety and consistency

ACADEMICS 

☐ I passed all my classes first semester
☐ I am passing  all my classes (there will be grade checks throughout the season)
