Bienvenue! Welcome to French at Union Grove High School. I'm excited to meet each of you and get started on our language-learning journey. Check out the information below to get to know a little about me, the course, and what you'll need to be successful in this class.
-Madame Pratt
Bring To Class:
- Chromebook (NO iPads or personal laptops)
- AIM binder (whole school requirement!)
- pens, pencils, and highlighter
- headphones that can plug into Chromebook
- jacket/sweater
Recommended:
- 3 hole pocket portfolios/folders, or sheet protector pockets that your students can put in their binders to organize papers
Requested:
- Tissues and hand sanitizer! I have a generous donor who has stocked my room with many of the things we might need, but these always run out :)
Reminders:
The use of any translation or AI generation programs/software in our course is strictly prohibited. As stated in the syllabus, graded assignments that reflect the use of these prohibited programs will result in a ZERO score for the assignment. This includes Gemini, Google's search engine AI assistant. Appropriate technology tools that are allowed will be addressed in class.
UGHS Policy is that students remain in class during class time except for those rare emergencies. No passes are given for the first and last 15 minutes of class. Plan restroom breaks ahead. Remember that only water is to be consumed outside the Commons!

Madame Pratt graduated Summa Cum Laude from Georgia College and State University with a BA in French and Liberal Studies before moving to Lille, France to teach English. Most of her time abroad has been spent in the north of France and in Belgium, but she travels internationally as often as possible!
From 2017-2021, she taught French 1, 2, 3, and AP in Warner Robins, GA but has been a Wolverine since moving to McDonough in 2023 with her husband, their Irish Setter named Pippin, and their many, many houseplants. She spends her free time watching Critical Role, crocheting, reading Lord of the Rings, and generally being a huge nerd.
