Ceramics & Sculpture

Students enrolled in Ceramics or Sculpture will receive all materials necessary to successfully complete the eight required course projects at no cost.

Students who wish to create artwork beyond the required curriculum may purchase an Optional Open Studio Pass for $30 per semester. The pass provides materials, glazes, kiln firings, and studio resources for up to four additional ceramic projects.

Open Studio projects are intended to encourage artistic growth, creative exploration, and skill development. Students may also use Open Studio projects to replace the grade of a previously completed project by demonstrating improved craftsmanship and mastery of the same course standards.

Open Studio projects do not constitute extra credit and will not increase a student's grade beyond the established grading scale. Replacement projects must demonstrate proficiency in the same skills as the original assignment and are subject to teacher approval.

Participation in the Open Studio program is entirely optional. All students have equal access to the required curriculum and will not be academically disadvantaged if they choose not to participate. Students must complete, or be making satisfactory progress toward, all required course assignments before beginning Open Studio projects.
