My name is Mrs. Wood, and I am in my 25th year teaching in Henry County Schools. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts from Georgia Southern University with a concentration in ceramic arts and am certified in Visual Art K–12. It is my hope that, through support and grant opportunities, all students are able to experience and be inspired to create without financial constraints.

As a ceramic artist and educator, my work centers on the connection between function, craftsmanship, and material exploration. I am particularly interested in glaze chemistry and how surface, form, and firing interact to create depth and variation. Working primarily in mid-range ceramics, I explore layered glazes and processes that balance control with unpredictability.

My studio practice is closely tied to my teaching. I strive to help students understand not only how to create, but why materials behave the way they do. I encourage experimentation, problem-solving, and creative confidence.

Ultimately, my work reflects a commitment to growth, curiosity, and building meaningful connections through the ceramic process.
