Fine Arts Honor Chord Requirements
4 semesters in Chorus with A’s, with continued participation in the choral program throughout all 4 years in Hampton High School (participation includes attending all concerts, participating in Hampton Harmonies, the spring musical, or county/district honor choirs
Full Participation in all choral performances - even during semesters when unable to enroll in chorus due to scheduling issues. No unexcused absences for Performances. (Will follow HCS Absence Policies)
· Demonstrate exemplary behavior and leadership in chorus classes, rehearsals, and public performances.
· Participate in at least two outside choral/music activites per year (includes spring musical, District Honor Choir, Henry County Honor Choir, Literary Competition, or another fine arts music event that takes place during the year - must be approved by teacher)
*** The completion of ALL these Chorus Pathway requirements will allow the student to be honored for graduation by receiving the pink Fine Arts cord. ***
****To ensure sustained engagement and a well-rounded experience, students are expected to remain active in the program throughout all four years, including their senior year. Due to block scheduling, some students may complete the four required courses before graduation; however, participation in extracurricular activities, events, and program-related opportunities is still required during senior year. CAPSTONE PRESENTATION including a written reflection on your experiences.
Capstone for Chorus: Consists of a solo performance to a panel of judges who will assess the singing, skill mastery, and communication provided by the musician during the presentation.
*** The completion of ALL of these requirements will allow the student to be honored for graduation by receiving the pink Fine Arts cord AND a Fine Arts Seal on their diploma/transcript. ***
