Students receive lessons once a week through advisory. Second Step is a social/emotional curriculum to help students learn more about supporting themselves and those around them.
SPMS School Counselors visit students in the classroom at least once a month to deliver lessons, we meet one-on-one with students, and work to support our students individual needs
Help your student achieve success in middle school by working with them to develop good study skills early on.
Student Virtual Agenda - Students can use this agenda to link to their individual agenda boards and keep track of assignments coming due.
Oftentimes there are changes in friendship dynamics in middle school. If your student is struggling with making connections, encourage them to participate in clubs and other extracurricular activities.
Learning and practicing different coping skills will help your student manage their big emotions and better express their feelings. Work with your student to identify a couple of coping strategies they would like to practice this year.
Schoology is where students can access their individual classes and the class materials. Agenda boards are visible on Schoology under the "Classes" section!
We suggest checking PowerSchool grades at least once a week to monitor your student(s) progress and become aware of any concerns early on
