About Mrs. Johnson

This will be my 27th year teaching at Short Pump Elementary, and I have loved every one of them. I am originally from Northern New Jersey and came down to Richmond to attend the University of Richmond. I graduated from the University of Richmond with a BA in Psychology and Spanish and a concentration in Elementary Education. I also received my Master of Teaching graduate degree from UR in 2000.

I loved Richmond so much that after I graduated, I decided to stay. Thankfully, I was able to student teach here at Short Pump and was hired right after graduation.

When I’m not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband and I have a daughter who is starting high school this year, and we also have a sweet Goldendoodle who keeps us laughing. I’m excited for the year ahead and can’t wait to get to know all of my students and their families!  

My mission for this year is to provide a supportive, positive environment where students will be challenged to meet their potential socially,  emotionally, and academically. I look forward to working with you and your child this year!
