I was born and raised here in Henrico County, VA. I attended Carver Elementary School, Quioccasin Middle School, and Godwin High School. After that, I went to James Madison University to study to become a teacher. Go Dukes! 💜💛
This will be my 11th year as an educator and my first year at Short Pump Elementary. Previously, I taught 1st grade and 5th grade at Nuckols Farm Elementary and was the Innovative Learning Coach at Echo Lake Elementary for three years before taking two years off to work remotely while my son was in preschool. I'm so excited to be back in the classroom!
When I'm not at school, you will usually find me hanging with my family. I'm married to Mr. Deal, who is a software developer and former teacher. We have a son, Thomas, and a chocolate lab, Chewbacca Rebel Deal, Chewie for short! (Yes, Mr. Deal is a huge Star Wars fan!)
