Steps:
Determine which type of activity you are performing as some activities require an immediate submission of reflection, while other activities that last for a school year or season only require a reflection submission once the full activity has been completed. Please carefully review the activity descriptions provided (as well as the image above) and ask questions BEFORE submitting the form and reflection.
Students MAY make ONE submission for ongoing community service or long-term LRL activities. The dates of participation (start and end) must be provided in the form AND in the 1st question of the submission reflection document.
Complete the form completely AND submit the proper reflection.
The form must be complete and specific to the type of activity being performed. Details of specific organizations being supported by your efforts must be provided. Word counts for the reflections are provided with the submission activity & are considered as part of the approval process.
You will receive an email notification to your HCPS email address of the submission and later receive an email accepting or denying the submission. An acceptance email will provide the new total of hours for the Life Ready Learning Diploma Seal. An email denying the activity will provide reasoning for the denial. The email is generated by the form with a "DO NOT REPLY" heading. Please review your HCPS emails to keep track of submissions.
It will be IMPERATIVE for students to submit BY THE DEADLINES provided. Late submissions after a school year has ended will no longer be accepted. Multiple reminders will be made through Schoology and ParentSquare during the school year. Deadlines for the 2026-27 SY:
Seniors--deadline for submissions is 4pm, April 5, 2027
Underclassmen--deadline for submissions is 4pm, May 21, 2027. Activities completed after this date will be counted with the next school year. The form will close for the summer and open at the start of the next school year.
Hours not submitted by the deadlines will NOT be accepted late. There is no longer an approval process for this with the change to the Life Ready Learning Seal program.
Students are responsible for keeping track of their own activities. Start/end dates, details of activities performed, adult supervisors are key pieces of information needed for reporting. Reports on student activities are NOT available.
