Discourse Strategies and Scaffolds in Science

Instructional strategies are techniques teachers use to promote learning and help students become independent strategic learners. With continued guidance and practice instructional strategies become learning strategies as students independently select the appropriate ones and use them effectively to accomplish learning tasks.
