Designed sample course for UVA Health Systems. This course is for healthcare professionals and walks them through Medicare Eligibility for patients with End Stage Renal Disease.

Challenge

• Medical professionals at UVA Health Systems should know the specific criteria for patient qualifications for Medicare if End Stage Renal Disease is a factor in a patient’s health history, as referenced by the Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire or MSPQ. If the do not know this information, insurance claims could be made incorrectly cause financial issues for the patient.

Solution

• I designed a self paced course based walking the adult learned through the three categories of how patients can qualify for Medicare with ESRD.

• I included clickable elements to engage the learner- for examples slides and dials.

• At the end of the course the learner takes an assessment applying the information they learned.

Result

• Although this course was created for a fictional scenario, the hope is that medical professionals at UVA Health would be able to properly bill patients' insurance based on their health history.
