Empathy on a Postcard

An American Journey, a cross-curricular experience, started with all of the 7th grade ELA classes participating in a lesson on the refugee experience with a focus on learning about empathy. Through this lesson, they created postcards welcoming refugees to America. The students then chose to participate in the StudentsRebuild campaign, which raises $5 per postcard towards refugee causes. 203 students submitted theirs, meaning BMS raised $2,030.00.
