Within the Book
Within the Book is the stories and skill work the students complete everyday during AIS reading.
The students are grouped by grade and reading level. Students read leveled books to improve reading comprehension skills.
With each book the students are given a purpose for reading. As they read they stop and jot down important details. The notes are used during discussions, to answer comprehension questions and to write a summary.

Somebody - Who is the story about
Wanted - What did he/she want to do?
But - What is the problem?

Then - How was the problem solved?
Beyond the Book is an extension of the books we read in class.
I extend lesson with non-fiction books.
The students works hands on with materials from the books.
