Practicum I in Health Science

Recommended for students in Grades 11 and 12.

Prerequisites: Health Science Theory and Biology

  • Designed to give students practical application of previously studied knowledge and skills.
  • Practicum experiences can occur in a variety of locations appropriate to the nature and level of experience.
    • Includes unpaid experience for students participating in a coherent sequence of career and technical education courses in the Health Science Career Cluster.
  • Students are certified in Healthcare BLS CPR.
  • Students are enrolled in CE/DC Courses via Blackboard with Kilgore College
    • Body Systems (Fall Semester) and Medical Terminology (Spring Semester)
  • Students are encouraged to participate in extended learning experiences such as career and technical student organizations (HOSA) and other leadership or extracurricular organizations.

Practicum I - Clinical

Students delivered homemade Christmas cards to Residents at Autumn Leaves. This is a long-standing tradition of our Health Science Department. The residents enjoy the interactions with students and receiving such special cards.
