The vision of HCHS school counseling department is that all students have a sense of value and worth for themselves and others, have confidence and resiliency to overcome difficulties, and possess the necessary skills to pursue academic excellence, personal integrity and civic responsibilities.
The mission of HCHS counseling department is to provide students with a comprehensive, data driven, developmental program that promotes student growth for a child’s academic, career, and social emotional needs. The program empowers students to advocate for themselves, create goals, make responsible decisions, and implement post-secondary plans, in their quest to become productive and responsible citizens, working in collaboration with school, home, and community in a changing and diverse world. HCHS counselors believe that all students can achieve and are committed to advocating for our students to help provide support needed to maximize every student’s potential.
