Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year at Diamond Valley Middle School and to my class. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Mr. Muro and I am your seventh grader’s Math teacher. Prior to pursuing a career in education, I worked in the field of electronics. I earned a Bachelor's Degree and a Teaching Credential from Cal State University of San Bernardino (CSUSB). Recently I earned a supplementary authorization in Introductory Mathematics from the University of California Riverside (UCR). I have been teaching seven years and this will be my fourth year teaching math in Middle School.
Making the transition from Elementary School to Middle School is a tough transition but I would like to make it as easy and painless as possible for you. We will focus on building positive relationships, developing critical thinking skills, mastering 7th Grade Math Objectives, and having fun along the way. Since I have a background in the martial arts, I run my class like a dojo therefore my class is extremely structured with a focus on discipline and work ethics. I am a firm believer that all students are capable of greatness.
I will do my best to communicate with you every step of the way! Communication is the key to an effective partnership. Parents are highly encouraged to take an active role in your child's learning. Grade information will be found on Aeries. Please make sure to get your code from the office and sign up as soon as possible. I encourage you and your student to contact me with any questions or concerns that may arise.
You can reach me at jmuro@hemetusd.org or you can submit a question via my contact form below. To leave a message for me at the school please call: (951) 925-2899 x 1603
