SAMHSA’s national youth substance use prevention campaign helps parents and caregivers, educators, and community members get informed, be prepared, and take action to prevent underage drinking and other substance use.
The “Talk. They Hear You.” campaign aims to reduce underage drinking along with other substance use among youths under the age of 21 by providing parents and caregivers with information and resources they need to address these issues with their children early and often.

Events Expanding Prevention In Your Community
One way to help others learn more about the Allamakee Prevention Advisory and its mission is by attending events in your community. Become a face people recognize, a face that makes them want to join a group of individuals "focused on guiding grant funds to advocate, educate, and provide awareness to positively impact the health and wellness of Allamakee County".

The Allamakee Prevention Adviosry hosted a resource table and Hidden in Plain Sight mock teenager's bedroom on Satuday, October 11th in Lansing, IA at the fire station. Learn more about what could be hiding in plain sight, and get more information about resources available in your community!
Your farmers' market just got even fresher - the Allamakee Prevention Advisory is bringing prevention to the produce! The Allamakee Prevention Advisory has taken a special interest in promoting local resources and information at the Postville Farmers Market in Allamakee County. We were able to talk with community members about the importance of mental health as well as substance use prevention, as well as show them examples of different vaping products.
