Allamakee Health Fair at Veteran's Memorial Hospital
The Allamakee Prevention Advisory was able to attend the Allamakee Health Fair in Waukon on May 10th. Not only were we able to host a table, but we also had to opportunity to do a Hidden In Plain Sight event. During this event, individuals ages 18 and older were able to see a mock bedroom of a teenage boy. This was not just any bedroom though, this mock bedroom was filled with many different items such as vapes, booze tubes, Kratom, and many more items hidden in plain sight. This prevention strategy gives adults the ability to recognize and become familiar with new drug trends while getting the education they need to better support their youth.
