Students will be required to complete unfinished classwork as homework. No separate homework will be assigned. Completed work is due by the end of the week.
Although homework is not graded, it is vital that all work is completed to allow opportunities for students to reach mastery in any given content area.
"Homework is a constructive tool in the teaching/learning process when geared to the needs and abilities of students. Purposeful assignments not only enhance student achievement, but also develop self-discipline and associated good working habits. As an extension of the classroom, homework must be planned and organized, must be viewed as purposeful to the students, and should be evaluated and returned to students in a timely manner. Teachers may give homework to students to aid in the students educational development. Homework should be an application or an adaptation of a classroom experience, and should not be assigned for disciplinary purposes" (School Board Policy #2430).
Please reach out through email or phone if you or your child have questions or concerns regarding homework.
Students will have the number of days missed to complete and return missed work. i.e. If a student misses 2 days of school, they have 2 extra school days to submit missed work.
If your child will be absent for an extended period, please contact me in advance to have work sent home.
