Homework (from homeroom) will be assigned on Fridays (or the last day of the school week). It is due by Wednesday and is 100% OPTIONAL. Your child can always turn it in early though.
Generally the homework will include only a reading log, a total of 80 minutes for the week. Periodically, math, grammar, penmanship, science or social studies will be included.
Occasionally, homework will be sent home on another day if a student has not completed an assignment in which adequate time was given during class time. In this instance, the work will be due the next school day. This type of homework originates from the math and reading groups.
In my math group, students typically work on three assignments per week and all are due by Friday. If they are not completed by Friday, I will email digital versions of the assignments to parents. Those homework assignments will be due by Monday of the following week.
Finally, a Behavior Chart will be sent home each Friday. The Behavior Chart needs a parent/guardian initial and is due back to school by Wednesday as well. It may be returned early.
