I believe in the dignity of every human being and that our differences are avenues for appreciation, respect, and joy. I approach therapy collaboratively and with a sense of humor. I am empathetic, genuine, down-to-earth, and inquisitive. I work well with individuals who are often "in their head" or intellectual, as well as deep feelers and highly sensitive individuals. I use a variety of techniques to help clients reach their goals, and I approach therapy from a humanistic and empowering perspective.
My approach is humanistic. That means I believe that every client has the potential to live the life they want but they might need a little finetuning and support to get there. I help clients look inward to become who they truly want to be and find what will bring them meaning and satisfaction in their lives.
Feminist Therapy is about empowerment. As a feminist therapist, I work to empower my clients to set goals and make the decisions that are the best for them. I am collaborative and supportive in helping clients navigate social and personal factors that might prevent them from achieving their goals while also capitalizing on their strengths to help them feel better and reach their goals.
I use a variety of techniques to help clients reach their goals and work collaboratively with clients to determine what interventions might work best for them. Common techniques include questioning, journaling, meditation, yoga, analyzing thoughts and their impact on feelings, and other exercises tailored towards an individual or couple's needs.
